Our Story
A Winter Decision That Changed Everything
Picture a freezing German winter. The radiator had given up, and I was studying under a mountain of blankets—shivering more than learning. In that moment, I walked to the university’s foreign‑relations office and asked a single question: ‘What’s the warmest place we partner with?’ They said Cádiz, Spain. I signed the papers on the spot. That leap toward warmth became a leap toward an international life I hadn’t planned—and the first step toward PolyQa.

Thrown Into Teaching—With No Map
In Spain, a professor invited me to help with a packed German‑language lecture. Two weeks later the university needed a German teacher—experience optional. I had none. They said, “You’re charismatic; you’ll figure it out.” Armed with photocopies and Google searches, I tried to teach the way I’d been taught.
It was a disaster. Exercises felt pointless, grammar charts confused everyone, and students left class knowing little more than when they arrived. I realized the problem wasn’t the students—it was the method.

Flipping the Paradigm: Language As a Tool
My background across various humanities disciplines pushed me to ask a different question: What is language? What makes language useful? The answer was obvious once I looked at children. They learn through meaningful questions, immediate needs, and constant usage—not through memorizing verb tables.
So I threw out the old playbook. I built short texts that mattered, then drove the lesson with Q&A—problems that could only be solved by using the language. Grammar emerged naturally, vocabulary stuck because it lived in stories, and students started speaking from day one.

From Rooms to Books to Breakthroughs
Teaching private students in Mexico, I turned rooms into immersive classrooms: ‘What is this? A bed. What do you do in a bed? Sleep.’ It worked. Then I realized I didn’t even need the physical room—our minds could paint the picture. That insight let me scale the method into written form.
I published my first practice‑books on Amazon eight years ago. They earned 4.5‑star reviews and a devoted following. My classes filled up, wait‑lists grew, and I had to raise prices just to manage demand.

The Birth of PolyQa
Books were great—but limited. I wanted every learner to have a classroom in their pocket. After several false starts with collaborators, I built it myself. PolyQa is the Supported Communication Approach in digital form: stories, Q&A, voice feedback, spaced repetition, and—most importantly—meaningful usage.

Our Mission
PolyQa exists so anyone, anywhere, can learn to speak a new language naturally, joyfully, and effectively—without grammar anxiety or endless flash‑cards. Whether you’re studying solo, with a teacher, or inside a company, PolyQa turns language into a living tool you use every day.
